Floodplain Maps
Are you living in a floodplain?
In the City of Littleton, there are both FEMA-designated floodplains and local floodplains.
Whether or not you are in a designated floodplain, find out your risk of flooding at the RiskFactor website.
The FEMA-designated floodplains can be found on Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs) published by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The floodplain maps are based on the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1988. Property owners, insurance agents and mortgage providers will find the new DFIRMs to be very informative and easy to use.
In addition, you can search the FEMA map database with an address and determine whether the property is located in a floodplain.
Local floodplains are not mapped by FEMA, but are still regulated by the city the same way as a FEMA floodplain. All floodplains, both FEMA and local, can be found on the the city's Zoning Lookup Map. Floodplain areas are indicated on the Zoning Map as "FP-O.)
NOTE: With updated hydrologic and hydraulic studies, floodplain delineations may be in the process of being revised. Little's Creek floodplain is in the FEMA process for revision, expected to be adopted in early 2019. Reports about floodplains and profiles are located in the Flood Insurance Studies (FIS) below:
For questions about whether you are located within a floodplain, contact City of Littleton Public Works Department/Engineering Division at 303-795-3863 and ask for the Floodplain Administrator.
Elevation Certificates
If your property is within or near a FEMA floodplain, an Elevation Certificate might be on file with the city. An Elevation Certificate is prepared by a licensed professional surveyor and certifies whether a structure (house, store, etc) has a finished floor elevation that is within or above the floodplain. Copies of Elevation Certificates are available from the Public Works Department/Engineering Division 303-795-3863 (Ask for the floodplain administrator).
