In 2024, Littleton adopted its first Environmental Stewardship Action Plan to address six priority areas, including air quality, waste reduction, and natural resources. This greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory measures emissions from the community and city operations, establishing a baseline for setting reduction targets. Reducing emissions will also advance other city goals, such as expanding the urban tree canopy. Following this report, the next steps will be forecasting emissions, setting targets, and creating a comprehensive Climate Risk & Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA).
