Fire Restrictions

Current fire restriction status as of October 1, 2026:

No Restrictions

Littleton city code allows the city manager to declare Stage 1 or Stage 2 fire restrictions within city limits based on similar declarations by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office or recommendations by South Metro Fire Rescue. 


Stage 1 Fire Restrictions

Under Stage 1 fire restrictions, open fires within city limits are not allowed.

The following exceptions are allowed:

  • Gas-fueled fireplaces, grills, and fire pits;
  • Charcoal grills;
  • Tiki torches and portable/patio fire pits where allowed by code;
  • Professional fireworks displays.

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions

Under a Stage 2 fire ban, open fires within city limits are not allowed.

The following exceptions are allowed:

  • Gas-fueled fireplaces, grills, and fire pits;
  • Charcoal grills;
  • Professional fireworks displays.
