Neighborhood Parking Permits

Step 1.Do I need a Neighborhood Parking Permit?

Residents living within an established residential permit-parking zone must obtain a parking permit prior to parking any vehicle on public streets during the days and times parking restrictions are in effect within such a district. Check the Look-Up Map to see if your address is in one of these parking permit zones before proceeding.

Step 2.What are the Neighborhood Parking Permit Program Policies for the City of Littleton?

• Permanent residential parking permits shall be attached to the lower left corner/driver's side of the front windshield of the vehicle.

• As of September 21, 2023, permanent residential parking permits issued under this policy will continue to be valid from date of issuance for all eligible residents with no expiration date. Permits shall immediately expire once the owner or lessor of the vehicle no longer resides within the parking zone district.

• Any permit lawfully issued under this policy shall constitute permission to park a vehicle in a residential permit-parking district. Such permission does not allow motorists the authority to violate, cancel or set aside any other parking restriction within the city.

• Guest Permits:

  Residents may obtain a maximum of two (2) guest parking permits per household for use at their own discretion, such as on company vehicles, by long-term visitors, by daycare providers, contractors, etc. Visitors displaying a guest parking permit shall have the authority to park on public streets during the days and times parking restrictions are in effect. These hanger-type permits shall be displayed from the rear-view mirror. As of September 21, 2023, hanging guest passes have no expiration date and are only replaced by the city when turned in due to normal wear and tear or by the discretion of the Building Permit Center Supervisor. Please note, as guest permits will not be replaced if lost or unaccounted for, it is the responsibility of the residents at that property to keep track of their two (2) issued guest permits. The city no longer issues special contractor or event guest passes to residents. 

Step 3.How do I obtain a Neighborhood Parking Permit if I am eligible?

Simply complete the application form and attach your supporting documentation.  One application shall be required for each property owned.  

Residents must upload at least one document to support proof of occupancy and may include the following:

• Vehicle Registration
• Driver's License
• Utility Bill
• Lease

Residents will be contacted by the Littleton Building Permit Center if there are any questions about submitted documentation or additional documentation is required. 

Note: If a registered vehicle is sold and a new vehicle registered for an eligible property, a new application must be completed to obtain a new parking permit and void the old one. This same procedure must be completed if a windshield has been replaced and a permanent parking sticker must be re-issued.

Email completed Parking Permit Application to buildingpermits@littletongov.org. Please allow up to seven (7) working days for application and supporting documentation review following application submittal.

A follow-up email will be sent to approved applicants letting them know the permits are in the mail. Eligible residents may also visit the Building Permit Center during business hours (but prior to 4:00 PM) with a completed application to pick up new parking permit stickers and guest permits at the Littleton Center.
