Parks and Trails
The City of Littleton has over 1,400 acres of parks and open space and more than 200 miles of trails. The city has an agreement with South Suburban Parks and Recreation (SSPR) to maintain most of the parks in the city.
Visit the South Suburban Parks and Trails for a complete list of facilities in the SSPR District and to reserve a shelter at one of the parks.
South Suburban's district includes the cities of Littleton, Sheridan, Centennial, and Lone Tree, as well as parts of unincorporated Arapahoe, Jefferson and Douglas counties.

Littleton City Council approved a resolution in May 2016, adopting the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan. The purpose of the plan is to preserve and improve on the city's outdoor features and recreational options, not just for today, but for future generations as well.
Some of the objectives outlined in the plan are ongoing, but overall the goal is to accomplish several aspects of the plan over 10 years. Some specific changes may include upgrading playgrounds, building new playgrounds, adding amenities to trail heads, and adding ADA access to parks.
This plan is the first of its kind in Littleton. City leaders worked alongside consultant GreenPlay and representatives from South Suburban Parks and Recreation to develop the plan. The team visited many parks, engaged the community, and discussed history as well as future population trends for the area.
Since SSPR manages a majority of the city's parks, the organization plays a large role in executing the plan.
