Business Spotlight - Denver Beer Company
Published on January 30, 2024
Denver Beer Co was founded in 2011 by Patrick Crawford and Charlie Berger. The two had been acquaintances in college, but reconnected over a shared love of craft beer and brewing. At the time, Patrick was homebrewing in his bathtub and working as an engineer at Lockheed Martin, and Charlie was a professional brewer for Wynkoop Brewing in Denver. The two founders had both spent some time in Germany and loved the beer garden culture where friends and strangers would share pints and giant pretzels at large, community-sized tables in the open air beer gardens. With Colorado's 300 days of sunshine, it made perfect sense to bring that concept to Colorado. And so Denver Beer Co was born.
Denver Beer Co opened its first taproom on Platte Street in downtown Denver in August of 2011. Since then, it has become known as one of Colorado's flagship craft breweries. In addition to the original brewery on Platte Street, Denver Beer Co has taprooms in Denver's Lowry and Rosedale (DU) neighborhoods, in Olde Town Arvada, and now historic downtown Littleton.
Each Denver Beer Co taproom has a slightly different character, but they all share a similar vibe as a welcoming space where the community can gather over good beer, good food, and good fun. The newest location in Littleton is no exception. With a vibrant historic Main Street that truly serves as the hub of the community, downtown Littleton felt like the perfect spot to open a new taproom. The brewery's location on the corner of Prince and Main offers a large 4-season outdoor patio space, and a cozy taproom inside - perfect for families, coworkers, or for a refreshing pint after any Colorado adventure (dogs are welcome too!). The City of Littleton was incredibly welcoming and supportive, and Denver Beer Co is excited to join the community.
Denver Beer Co Littleton offers an extensive line-up of beers on tap that are approachable and delicious, plus non-alcoholic options including homemade lemonade, Easy Living sparkling hop water, and Rocky Mountain sodas. Denver Beer Co strives to make sure everyone feels welcome in our taprooms, whether a "beer nerd" or someone who has never tried craft beer before, we have something for every person and every taste. To ensure no one leaves hungry, the brewery also serves up a scratch-made menu full of comforting classics (try the cheeseburger!), with a kids menu, as well as vegetarian and GF options. Denver Beer Co is always hosting fun events including our signature Beer, Bacon and Coffee festival, trivia nights, pairing dinners, live music, and more.
Denver Beer Co is committed to Colorado and supports community and connection through several charitable giving campaigns throughout the year. The brewery is also dedicated to green brewing practices and brews 100% of its beers with solar power. In addition, Denver Beer Co implements a variety of sustainability practices including a CO2 capture program, sourcing ingredients from Colorado, using EV cars for the sales fleet, and hosting a brewery-wide recycling program.
