When fall leaves begin to pile up, Littleton residents have an easy way to recycle them through the annual Fall Leaf Collection Event at A1 Organics. 

A few guidelines will help keep the drop-off process moving smoothly:

• Leaves only: Loads containing other yard waste — including limbs, branches, grass or soil — will be charged the normal rate of $16 per cubic yard.
• Plastic bags: Residents must empty plastic leaf bags and take the bags with them when they leave.
• Brown craft bags: Paper bags are accepted as long as they are not mixed with branches or other yard waste. Bags must contain no tape, twine or plastic.
• Arrival time: The last loads will be accepted 30 minutes before closing to allow enough time for customers to enter and move through the site, particularly if there is a line.

Littleton residents are reminded to rake and collect leaves regularly throughout the fall. Don’t blow or rake leaves into the street, which can clog drains and contribute to street flooding. Keep leaves on the property until they’re ready for collection, or can take advantage of opportunities like the collection event.
