About the Program

Littleton Building Permit Center currently issues parking permits for all neighborhoods that have permit parking zone districts in the City of Littleton. Permits are issued at no cost to eligible residents.

Step 1.Do I need a Neighborhood Parking Permit?

Residents living within an established residential permit-parking zone must obtain a parking permit prior to parking any vehicle on public streets during the days and times parking restrictions are in effect within such a district. Check the Look-Up Map to see if your address is in one of these parking permit zones before proceeding.

Step 2.What are the Neighborhood Parking Permit Requirements and Program Policies for the City of Littleton?

  • Property owners owning residential property within an established residential permit-parking zone must obtain a parking permit prior to parking any vehicle on public streets during the days and times parking restrictions are in effect within such a district.
  • Property owners are to verify property address are within an established residential permit-parking zone by checking the Neighborhood Parking Permit Map 
  • Neighborhood Parking Permits that have been previously issued will not expire.
  • Neighborhood Parking Permits will be issued to property owners only.
  • Two (2) Neighborhood Parking Permits are allowed per property.
  • New hanger-type permits shall be displayed from the rear-view mirror. 
  • New hanging permits shall immediately expire once the owner or lessor of the vehicle no longer resides within the parking zone district.
  • Existing permanent residential parking permits do not expire.
  • Existing permanent residential parking permit shall be attached to the lower left corner/driver's side of the front windshield of the vehicle.
  • Existing hanging guest passes do not expire.

Property Sales

  • Neighborhood Parking Permits remain with the property just like keys to the property are given to the new property owners. 
  • Neighborhood Parking Permits will not be replaced if lost, stolen, or new owner.

It shall be the responsibility of the property owner to keep track of their Neighborhood Parking Permits

  • The City no longer issues special contractor or event passes to residents or property owners.
  • Property owners will be verified; the property owners’ identification will be required by showing a valid driver’s license upon permit pick up.

Any permit lawfully issued under this policy shall constitute permission to park a vehicle in a residential permit-parking district. Such permission does not allow motorists the authority to violate, cancel or set aside any other parking restriction within the city.

Additional Information and Policy Reminders

The City of Littleton reserves the right to change the guidelines of the Neighborhood Parking Permit Program as warranted in efforts to streamline and improve the program. 

Revocation

Permits may be revoked by the Traffic Analyst, Code Compliance, or Police Department if the holder of the permit fails to abide by any of the conditions of the permit or if the permit is not used for its intended purpose.

Exemptions

Utility, government, delivery and service vehicles, which are parked on the street while actively providing a service, or making a delivery to residential dwelling units within the district, are exempt from this regulation. Motorcycles shall be exempt from the requirements of this policy and may be parked within the zone district without displaying a valid parking permit.

Un-exempted vehicles parked within a parking permit zone without a valid parking permit (permanent sticker or hanging permit) may be subject to city parking violations.
