Engineering Design Standards
The Littleton Engineering Design Standards and Specifications (LEDS) outlines city requirements, design criteria, and implementation guidelines to ensure consistency, safety, and proper maintenance of public infrastructure and private construction. This document will serve as a critical resource not only for city staff, but for consultants, contractors, and developers working on projects in Littleton. Once adopted, LEDS will apply to new construction for both City of Littleton and private development, right-of-way (ROW) permits, and infrastructure maintenance, helping to ensure high-quality, safe, and consistent development throughout the city. This document will be updated periodically following changes to industry best practices as well as high-level policy documents such as the the Envision Littleton: Transportation Master Plan.
Like the Unified Land Use Code (ULUC), LEDS is a work in progress. A 45-day public comment period is available to citizens to view the LEDS draft document(PDF, 15MB) and make comments from June 13-July 28. Comments may also be emailed directly to engineering staff using DRT@littletonco.gov.

Littleton's development engineers collaborate with city planners, building division, and public works to manage all land development activities from the drafting of development agreements, plan review, construction inspection, and certification and final review of public improvements.
City of Littleton Development Review Planners and Civil Engineers are available by appointment only. We offer 30-minute appointments on Mondays and Thursdays to discuss topics such as Variances, Setbacks, Zoning, Grading, Floodplain, Land Use, and more.
Note: This appointment should not be used for questions related to pre-application meetings. If you have questions about Code Compliance, Building Codes, or Permits, please visit during walk-in hours or email the Permit Center: permits@littletonco.gov.

Staff and citizens with development review questions can reach the assigned Planner of the Day through the department's main line and auto attendant by calling 303-795-3748. Citizens may also submit question(s) to the Development Review Team: drt@littletonco.gov and a Development Review Planner or Civil Engineer from the City of Littleton will respond within two to three business days.
