In the 2014 Littleton Resident Survey, a whopping 96 percent of businesses and 94 percent of residents rated their overall quality of life as either "good" or "excellent." This rating is much higher than the ratings given by residents in other communities, nationally and in the Front Range.
"People love living in Littleton," said Kelli Narde, the city's communications director. "We have active, healthy neighborhoods, top-ranked schools, easy access to open space and trails, and a proud history. Littleton residents and businesses know and appreciate these amenities and the survey confirms it."
The survey revealed that residents think the redevelopment of aging shopping centers and older neighborhoods should be an important focus for the city in coming years. And while residents are grateful for the public transportation options in Littleton, they are concerned with traffic congestion and street maintenance.
The city contracted with National Research Center (NRC) in Boulder to conduct the survey. This is the same vendor that the city used for the first survey in 2012. The Resident Survey was mailed to 3,000 randomly-selected households in Littleton. 683 were completed and returned to the NRC for a 24-percent response rate. The Business Survey was sent to 1,000 randomly-selected businesses in the city and a total of 105 were completed for an 11-percent response rate.
