City of Littleton offices and facilities, including the Littleton Museum, the Municipal Court, and Bemis Public Library will be closed on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
Reynolds Landing Park is a 13-acre parcel along the South Platte River that currently includes an existing open space, the Superchi property (an abandoned house that the city acquired), and a stretch of ecologically degraded river. Littleton has partnered with Mile High Flood District (MHFD), South Suburban Parks and Recreation District (SSPRD), and Arapahoe County since 2016 to begin transforming the park space, including new restroom facilities. In 2020, planning efforts began to restore the river. Through public engagement and expansion of partnerships, the project grew to incorporate the surrounding parkland and create a strong access to nature and serve as a gateway to the river.
The current project is part of a more significant redevelopment of the 13-acre parcel. The redevelopment will make Reynolds Landing Park a destination for recreation and interaction with the South Platte River, one of the region’s greatest natural resources. The City of Littleton is partnering with the MHFD, SSPRD, Arapahoe County Open Spaces, the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB), Merrick & Company, DHM Design Corporation, ERO Resources Corporation, and Naranjo Civil Constructors with the goal of completing this phase of construction by fall 2027. Additional park improvements will be completed in future years. To view a site plan, phasing plan, renderings, construction updates, and more, visit the Naranjo Civil Reynolds Landing Park project.
This park is highly valued along the river corridor, identified in master planning documents, and is funded through 2028 in the Open Space fund.
