What is a Practice Park?

Also known by many other names like a safety town or traffic garden, the Practice Park is an interactive space for riders of all ages to gain confidence and learn the rules of the road for people biking, walking, and even driving! The park features crosswalks, bike infrastructure, and intersections that mimic real-life streets in a safe, car-free environment.

Through education, collaboration, and community engagement, Safer Streets Littleton is building a culture where safe travel is always the priority.
The Safer Streets Practice Park aims to provide:

  • A safe space to teach biking, walking, and rolling skills.
  • Build confidence biking, walking, and rolling for people of all ages and abilities.
  • Foster a shared culture of safety.

How to Use

Access to the Practice Park is free and open to the public! Community members of all ages are encouraged to visit the space to practice safe biking and walking skills. Please remember to follow the park rules:

  • Ride in the same direction as traffic signs and arrows.
  • Obey all traffic signs like you would on a real street.
  • Yield to people crossing at crosswalks.
  • Helmets are required at all times.
  • No motorized bikes, scooters or other vehicles are allowed, except wheelchairs.
