Drop-off program
Waste Management offers a drop-off program for residents who find themselves in a time crunch, (e.g., relocation or home sale). Residents can call the Waste Management hot-line, at 800-449-7587, and provide the operator with the reason for the drop-off request. Additional information on materials accepted through the program can be found on the Waste Management website.
PaintCare Program
PaintCare, a nonprofit organization created by paint companies, sets up drop-off locations for leftover paint, arranges for recycling and proper disposal, and conducts public education. To find a year-round PaintCare drop-off site near you, visit www.paintcare.org or call (855) PAINT09.
Find a PaintCare drop-off location near you by visiting www.paintcare.org/drop-offsites. All sites accept up to 5 gallons per visit; some accept more. Please call ahead to confirm business hours and ask if they can accept the type and amount of paint you would like to recycle. Sites do not accept aerosol coatings, leaking, unlabeled, or empty containers.
Businesses, organizations, and households with 100 gallons or more can request a free large volume pickup from PaintCare. Visit www.paintcare.org/pickup to learn more and request a pickup. PaintCare sites accept house paint as well as primers, stains, sealers, and clear coatings such as shellac and varnish. To be accepted for drop-off, PaintCare products must be in their original containers of no larger than 5 gallons in size, must have the original manufacturer’s printed label on the container, and must be covered with a secured lid. We cannot accept open or leaking cans.
