Explorative Pathways for Innovative Careers

What’s a common concern heard from businesses? Where is the workforce and how can employers find skilled professionals? Littleton Public Schools (LPS) has taken a proactive approach to this challenge and developed cutting edge curricula in partnership with Arapahoe Community College, private business and other higher education partners to address students’ desire for new learning pathways as well as workforce gaps and challenges head on.

In August of this year, LPS will open the long-awaited EPIC Campus with 900 students enrolled. The campus is a unique, hands-on, experiential learning opportunity for students in high demand local careers in one of 7 pathways: Aerospace, Business & Entrepreneurship, Computer Science, Construction Trades, Future Educator, Health Sciences, and the one and only learning pathway for Natural Resources in the state. The program offers industry certifications, concurrent college enrollment, college credits, and pre apprentice programs. The EPIC approach is to work in direct partnership with businesses to gain real-time, real-world understanding of skill gaps to develop meaningful worked based learning programs that can yield immediate career opportunities that also serve to support Littleton's business community.
